Position Summary

The Fashion Buyer is responsible for developing and executing strategic buying and merchandising plans to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency within assigned brands. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, analyzing performance, identifying trends, and curating product assortments that align with customer demand and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Buying & Merchandising Management

·      Negotiate with suppliers on product selection, pricing, and trading terms to ensure effective operations within approved plans and budgets, achieving targeted sales and margins.

·      Prepare and propose Open-to-Buy (OTB) to management and maintain optimal stock levels in line with sales forecasts and company policy.

·      Plan and execute seasonal buying strategies consistent with brand positioning and company sales goals.

·      Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely product launches, allocations, and replenishments.

2. Inventory & Sales Performance

·      Monitor stock levels and sales performance for assigned brands to ensure alignment with business targets.

·      Review weekly and monthly reports to identify fast- and slow-moving SKUs and implement appropriate actions.

·      Execute markdown and promotion strategies to optimize inventory and drive sell-through.

3. Market & Trend Analysis

·      Conduct regular market research and analyze fashion trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform product and pricing decisions.

·      Identify and recommend new products, categories, or emerging brands that resonate with the target audience and enhance assortment differentiation.

·      Visit retail stores and review both offline and online performance to understand customer behavior and product movement.

4. Supplier & Partner Relationship Management

·      Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and business partners to secure competitive advantages and long-term collaboration opportunities.

·      Coordinate with suppliers on documentation and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to company policy and relevant regulations.

·      Negotiate and manage other income sources (e.g., consignment fees, marketing support, co-op promotions) to enhance category profitability.

5. Product Knowledge & Team Coordination

·      Provide product knowledge, visual guidelines, and related instructions to retail and operations teams.

·      Collaborate closely with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Operations to ensure cohesive storytelling and commercial presentation of products.

·      Deliver regular product training sessions and updates to frontline staff.

6. Reports

·      Prepare and present regular reports on brand performance, including sales, margin, and inventory.

·      Analyze and summarize key insights on product performance, trends, and customer behavior for management review.

·      Conduct post-season analyses to evaluate performance versus plan and develop recommendations for upcoming seasons.

·      Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all buying and merchandising reports in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.

·      Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fashion buying or merchandising, preferably within retail or department store environments.

·      Strong passion for culture, lifestyle, and fashion.

·      Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills (in both Thai and English).

·      Commercially driven with strong awareness of fashion trends and consumer behavior.

·      Proficient in Microsoft Excel and retail reporting tools; experience with OTB planning preferred.

·      Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

·      Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
